TITLE: 7 Royal Caribbean secrets almost nobody knows

We've spent years planning cruises for Latin American families, and these are the details that almost never show up in the typical online reviews.

1. Wine is free on embarkation day. Every adult can bring one 750 ml bottle of wine or champagne on board at zero cost, as long as it's the day you first board. Beer and hard liquor aren't allowed in carry-on luggage, so this perk only applies to wine and champagne.

2. Cabin breakfast is free too. Room service normally charges $7.95 per order, but continental breakfast -juice, coffee, toast, bagels, donuts and pastries- has zero charge. Just order it the night before by hanging the door card.

3. Diamond status comes with a serious drink perk. Hit 80 Crown & Anchor Society points and you become Diamond, earning 4 free drink vouchers a day, each worth up to $14. Diamond Plus gets 5 vouchers, and Pinnacle Club gets 6.

4. The cheapest way to buy the drink package isn't onboard. The Deluxe Beverage Package costs $120 a day if you buy it once you're on the ship, but booked ahead through the Cruise Planner it can drop to $59.99 a day -up to 40% off the onboard price.

5. There are 42 secrets hidden across Oasis and Allure of the Seas. They're called Small Wonders: art pieces and curiosities scattered across the entire ship that most passengers never notice, even on repeat cruises.

Bonus: port porters are a free service -the expected tip is $1 to $2 per bag, not a mandatory charge.
